Sketch cards are one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn, signed pieces of artwork on a small piece of card or thick paper. They are usually 2.5" x 3.5" – though this can range up to 'oversize' cards of 3.5" x 5".

There are also ACEOs (Artist Cards, Editions and Originals) and ATCs (Art Trading Cards). However, there are differences in the terms.

  • ACEO is usually referred to when doing prints. These can also include originals in a series.
  • ATCs are commonly done in all kinds of mediums. Paint and collage are some of the most practiced.
  • Sketch Cards are usually only done in pencils. These can be graphite, charcoal, and color.
There are exceptions to these "rules," but most of the time, they are pretty straight forward.
